We believe the most ambitious people should work on the most important global problems. We need our brightest minds to make pandemics history, end factory farming, fight the tobacco industry, safeguard our democracies — and these are just a few examples. Moral ambition is the will to make the world a wildly better place. To be one of the best, but measured by a different standard of success.

Our work at The School for Moral Ambition spans three key areas:

  1. Book and Campaigns: Inspiring movements through thought leadership and campaigns.
  2. Community Activities: Building supportive communities for morally ambitious individuals.
  3. Exclusive Fellowship Programs: Running targeted, high-impact fellowships addressing neglected global challenges.

about the role

As a Fellowship Event Intern, you will support the second edition of the Moral Ambition Fellowship, a 7-month, full-time program that includes intensive training in Amsterdam and Brussels. You will also help with the logistical setup of the Fellowship Summit on March 28, 2025, which concludes the last cohort, depending on your availability from March 1, 2025.

This role focuses on overseeing logistical operations and coordinating with training locations to ensure a seamless experience for fellows, speakers, and staff.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing the Fellowship Summit (March 28, 2025), if available from March 1.
  • Manage logistics for training weeks in Amsterdam and Brussels in September.
  • Be in charge of on-site operations during events, ensuring every chair, plant, and technical setup is perfectly aligned.
  • Coordinate with training locations about logistical needs and requirements.
  • Drafting event scripts
  • Depending on your availability: assisting other events from SMA and additional tasks for the fellowships

What We’re looking for

You might be an especially good fit if you have/are:

  • Passion for the concept of moral ambition
  • Residing in the Netherlands during the employment period. Unfortunately, we cannot assist with visa applications or sponsorship.
  • A relevant educational background: You are currently following education in event management, leisure management, hospitality, Hotelschool or another relevant background.
  • Start-up mindset: You are comfortable working in a relatively young organisation.
  • Detail-oriented: You excel at doing tasks neatly, e.g. polishing timetables and keeping track of unfilled speaker slots.
  • Effective and direct communication: You will work directly with our senior program managers and external stakeholders (e.g. speakers).
  • Proactive and solution oriented: You like to think three steps ahead and are eager to point out potential problems and generate solutions before they arise.
  • Teamplayer: You place group results over your individual performance and make time to invest in the learning and growth of your colleagues. When difficulties arise in collaboration, you choose courage over comfort.

We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. We welcome applicants of all races, religions, gender identities, sexual orientations, ages, national origins, disabilities, and other diverse backgrounds. At The School for Moral Ambition, we value talent and a can-do attitude above traditional credentials.

What we offer

  • A high intern compensation for Dutch standards (EUR 1.000 per month for full time)
  • A nice office with shared lunch to work from
  • Colleagues that genuinely care about each other and are exceptionally passionate about improving the world. We are a close-knit team that values having fun and growing together more than most impact-focused organisations.
  • Being part of a starting organisation with global impact potential. You can help make it happen.
  • Growth opportunities: We are dedicated to providing an excellent learning experience for you.

Application process

  1. Application form: To get started, please fill the application form before January 24.
  2. Interview: We’ll invite shortlisted candidates to a 45 minute interview with one of our Senior Program Managers, where we’ll ask a combination of situational judgement and experience-based questions, and open up time to discuss the role in more detail.
  3. Work test: We will have a 2-3 hour work test.

The expected duration of this application process is a maximum of 4 weeks from job closing date. We will be flexible regarding the procedure for some specifically qualified applicants.
