We believe the most ambitious people should work on the most important global problems. We need our brightest minds to make pandemics history, end factory farming, fight the tobacco industry, safeguard our democracies – and these are just a few examples. Moral ambition is the will to make the world a wildly better place. To be one of the best, but measured by a different standard of success.

In our community, we welcome ambitious and idealistic professionals. Some of them have a traditionally successful career, but question if their work really makes a difference. Others have been idealistic, but feel their contribution could be (much) larger. All of them want to multiply their impact by sharing their network, knowledge and experience. Today, our community counts 3,000 members and is growing every day.

Our Moral Ambition Circle program brings our community members together. It is an eight-session journey where groups of 6-8 members support each other and amplify each member’s career impact. We currently have over 700 program participants, more than 120 of whom have committed to their next career step.

about the role

This role presents the unique opportunity to build and lead the Moral Ambition Community in the United Kingdom. In April 2025, Rutger’s book Moral Ambition will be published in the UK. In the Netherlands and Germany, the launch of the book created a lot of momentum, and we expect the same will happen in the UK.

As our UK Community Lead, you will collaborate closely with Julia van Boven (co-founder and EU Community Director) to leverage this momentum and build a flourishing moral ambition community in London. You will also build upon the lessons from the Amsterdam and Berlin launches, and collaborate closely with the rest of the EU team.

You have the potential to grow into a director position, in which you will raise funding and hire a team to execute more programs of The School for Moral Ambition.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for virtually all incoming inquiries, welcoming individuals in and helping them find or start a Circle.
  • Recruit and onboard high-profile role models of moral ambition as ambassadors to champion the Moral Ambition movement across the UK.
  • Support and coach Moral Ambition Circle starters, empowering them to lead groups successfully through our Circle program.
  • Mobilize and engage a dedicated volunteer base, working together to expand the community’s reach.
  • Organize and facilitate events that bring members together, inspire new commitments, and reinforce the community’s purpose.
  • Foster an inclusive and diverse community, ensuring that members from all backgrounds feel welcomed, represented, and empowered within the Moral Ambition Community.
  • Implement new initiatives that support and grow the Moral Ambition Community in the UK, setting the stage for our continued growth.

What We’re looking for

  • Moral Ambition: Our founding principles deeply resonate with you
  • Experience: 7+ years of relevant working experience, for example in community building, facilitation, relationship management or event hosting.
  • Professional network: You have an established network of professionals in London.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: You’re a self-starter with either experience in initiative building or a demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Exceptional communication skills: Articulate and persuasive, with the ability to inspire through both written and spoken word.
  • Organizational strength: Skilled in managing priorities and seeing projects through to completion.
  • Leadership and facilitation: Able to inspire and guide large groups of professionals, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Fast learner: You’re smart and have a quick understanding of people and problems.
  • Flexibility: Willing to occasionally travel to Amsterdam and work outside typical office hours to attend events, recordings, or launches.
  • Magnetic presence: You naturally energize and attract those around you. You have examples of inspiring action in support of a project and a track record of maintaining momentum over the long-term through growth, scale, engagement or tangible wins.

What we offer

  • 60.000 - 75.000 UK£ gross salary per year based on 40 hours per week
  • A bi-monthly visit to the Amsterdam Office
  • 25 days of paid holiday per year
  • A global network of connected funders, high-profile ambassadors of moral ambition
  • Being part of a starting organization with global impact potential. You can help make it happen.
  • A whole lot of fun. As we tried to convey in our founding principles: ‘We’re not driven by feelings of guilt, but by sheer enthusiasm. We’re simply excited about making the world a wildly better place, and about building a legacy that matters.’
